The holiday weekend is upon us and soon we will be bidding farewell to Summer. We hope you all enjoyed your time off and we are looking forward to seeing everyone soon. By now, you should have received Chris' e-mail detailing information for the upcoming season. We've had many questions since her message and we hope the following addresses them. Apologies in advance, this is a long message, most covered by Chris, but there's added information. Please read it carefully and if you still have questions, feel free to reach out. Preseason Long Course Practices Starting Tuesday 9/5 swimmers in SR1, SR2 & SR3 can attend preseason long course outside from 4:30-6pm. Practices are held Monday through Friday at Centennial Avenue pool, weather permitting. We will not have access to locker room facilities so the swimmers must wear their bathing suits to and from the pool. We ask that you arrive to pick up your swimmers prior to 6:00pm. At 6:00 the facility gates will be locked and your swimmers will be waiting for you outside the gates unsupervised. Team registration - dues, parent fee & entry escrow The 1st installment of swim dues, the parent fee & entry escrow (if applicable) is due by 9/15 Chris and Alex will be at the pool (weather permitting) on the following dates to collect checks and answer any questions you may have Wed 9/6 4:15-6pm Thurs 9/7 4:15-6pm Fri 9/8 4:15-6pm Mon 9/11 4:15-6pm Tues 9/12 4:15-6pm Wed 9/13 4:15-6pm Check 1 swim dues Checks are payable to “Jersey Gators” https://www.jerseygatorsparents.com/documents/payment-plan/ Check 2 parent fee Checks are payable to “JG parent association” in the amount of $135/ swimmer Check 3 entry escrow Checks are payable to “Cranford JG” Recommended amounts can be found by clicking the link below https://www.jerseygatorsparents.com/documents/entry-fee-escrow/ Checks can be mailed but only as follows. PLEASE NOTE - CHRIS WILL SEND THE LINK OUT AS SOON AS IT OPENS UP. *On or about 9/1, I will be sending a link to register your swimmer(s) with USA swimming. Returning swimmers may receive an email directly from USA swimming with the link. Detailed instructions will be included. *The fee for this registration is $100 payable upon registering. USA Swimming accepts PayPal and credit cards only. *Chris & Lou will receive an email once this registration has been submitted. *Swimmers will NOT be permitted to attend indoor practice until this registration is complete due to insurance liability. *The coaches do not want to turn swimmers away – PLEASE register your swimmer before practice begins. Indoor Practice Indoor practice according to your groups practice schedule will begin on Monday September 25th at your group’s specified time. Please click HERE for practice schedules. Pool Registration for Team Members All swim team members are required to have a current winter pool membership. The Centennial Avenue indoor pool is under new management. Registration information regarding pool membership can be found on the Westfield Y website. Registration is in-person at the Westfield Y location, 220 Clark Street, Westfield, or by phone and must be completed by September 25th. Swimmers will NOT be granted access to the indoor pool without a valid registration ID. I’ve attached some information that was shared with us by the YMCA. Membership questions can be directed to the YMCA by calling 908-301-9622. ***Swimmers in Jr levels and up All swimmers in Junior 1,2, and Senior 1,2,3 are required to have swim fins for practice. We do NOT use short fins. Many swimmers use Trialon Rubber Swim Fins but you can buy whatever brand you prefer. General information Swim team members are required to have a current winter pool membership and scan their membership card in order to be admitted into the facility for practice. Swimmers who fail to comply will NOT be permitted into the facility for practice. Communication Emails are sent weekly with reminders of important information for the coming week. VERY IMPORTANT - our technology partner has informed us that anyone registered with a corporate/work e-mail MUST change to a web based e-mail (G-mail, Yahoo, AOL, etc). All personal or subscription e-mails will be terminated on corporate filtering which means you will not receive any communication from the team. Make sure you have joined Stack Team. This is an app we will be using to communicate important information. When requesting access please include your swimmers name AND swim group. We also have a Facebook page, it is private, so you must answer the questions before being accepted. Gator Grid Iron The Gator Grid Iron is Sunday 12/3 All families are required to work a session even if your swimmer is not participating. This is our one and only fundraising meet. Please mark your calendar. Families with 1 swimmer are required to work session, families with 2 or more swimmers are required to work 2 sessions (2 parents can work the same session) Personalized Swim Caps Silicone Jersey Gator swim caps that can be personalized with your swimmer’s name are on sale for a limited time. Caps come in a set of 2. Orders are due by October 2nd. Please see the attached order form below. Invitational and dual meet schedule We are working on scheduling dual meets. Once meets have been confirmed, they will be added to the website calendar. We will be updating the calendar with the dates of invitational meets we plan to attend.
